NextGen Legends: The Way Forward for the Next Generation

Legends Arena, in partnership with Bank Alfalah, has launched NextGen Legends, a structured athlete development program designed to support promising young talent with the coaching, facilities, performance support and opportunities needed to progress in their sporting journeys.

The program begins with five young athletes. Ayaan Saeed, Ismail Aftab, Raffay Ahrar, Saad Noman and Omar Qamar, but their journey with Legends started well before the launch of NextGen Legends.

For more than a year, the athletes have been training and developing their game within the Legends ecosystem, working closely with Shamsi Tennis & Padel Academy

NextGen Legends takes that existing work forward by bringing the different elements of athlete development together under a more structured pathway.

More Than On-Court Training

Developing an athlete requires more than time spent on court.

At the heart of NextGen Legends is a more complete approach to development. Shamsi Tennis & Padel Academy leads the athletes’ technical and on-court training, while Legends provides the wider environment and resources needed to complement that work.

As part of the program, athletes have access to Legends Fitness & Wellness, allowing strength, conditioning and physical development to become part of their broader training journey.

They are also supported through Legends Performance diagnostics, where individual assessments help identify strengths, physical limitations and areas that require further development. These insights allow coaches and the performance team to better understand each athlete and build a more focused approach around their individual needs.

The objective is simple: rather than treating every athlete the same, understand what each one needs to improve and provide the right support around them.

Creating a Pathway for Young Athletes

Talent alone does not determine how far an athlete can go. Access to quality coaching, facilities, competition, physical development and the right opportunities can all play an important role in what comes next.

NextGen Legends has been built around creating that environment.

The program is designed to give young athletes a platform from which they can continue developing, competing and pursuing greater opportunities within their respective sporting journeys. As the athletes progress, the support around them can evolve with their needs.

It is a long-term approach to athlete development rather than a short-term sponsorship initiative.

Bank Alfalah Backs the Next Generation

The launch of NextGen Legends is presented by Bank Alfalah, extending the partnership between Bank Alfalah and Legends Arena into the development of young sporting talent.

The first five athletes were brought together for the NextGen Legends signing ceremony, where Raheel Yousuf, Chief Marketing Officer at Bank Alfalah, welcomed the players and presented them with their NextGen Legends kits.

The ceremony represented an important milestone, but not the beginning of the athletes’ development. The work has already been underway for more than a year.

Instead, the signing represents a commitment to take that work further, with greater structure, additional resources and a clearer pathway around each athlete.

Meet the First Five NextGen Legends

The inaugural group brings together five young athletes at different stages of their development:

  • Ayaan Saeed
  • Ismail Aftab
  • Raffay Ahrar
  • Saad Noman
  • Omar Qamar

Over the coming months, Legends Arena will share more from each athlete’s individual journey, their training, development, competitions, progress and the work taking place behind the scenes.

Their stories will ultimately define what NextGen Legends represents.

The Way Forward for the Next Generation

NextGen Legends reflects a broader belief at Legends Arena: building sporting infrastructure is only one part of developing sport. The athletes who train within those environments need pathways that allow them to make the most of their potential.

Through the combined support of Bank Alfalah, Legends Arena and Shamsi Tennis & Padel Academy, NextGen Legends brings coaching, physical development, performance diagnostics, facilities, exposure and opportunity into one athlete-focused program.

The first five athletes mark the beginning.
